At Age 16 David Young III started in South Jersey cooking around 1989. His training is what he considers as “all hands on” real life experiences in the kitchen and that has helped Dave develop his own style of cooking. Real life restaurant experiences cannot be duplicated in any classroom or cooking school.
Chef Dave Young , better known as Chef Big Dave moved from Jersey to Denver ,Colorado and worked as a chef at Campo De Fiori in Val, Colorado before moving back to the East Coast for a job with the well known Alberto Trattrio of Newton Square. Chef Big Dave worked at the Newton Square location for approximately 1 ½ years before taking over the West Chester Alberto’s as the Head chef were he ran this very successful restaurant and kitchen for 7 years. Chef Big Dave made West Chester’s Alberto’s what it was! He now brings his experience, talent and patient for cooking to Side Bar & Restaurant and is a very important part of our team that helped us not only launch Side Bar & Restaurant but make our 7 years in operation a success!
